About JFK Airport, New York
John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is one of the busiest and most iconic airports in the United States. Located in Queens, about 15 miles (24 km) southeast of Manhattan, it serves as a major hub for domestic and international travel. Renting a car at JFK Airport is the perfect solution for travelers who want the flexibility to explore New York City, Long Island, and the surrounding Northeast region at their own pace.
Airport facilities and services
JFK has six passenger terminals (1–8, excluding 6), connected by the AirTrain JFK. The airport offers a wide range of amenities, including duty-free shopping, dining options, business lounges, family services, currency exchange, and free Wi-Fi. Several airport hotels like the TWA Hotel and Courtyard by Marriott provide convenient overnight accommodations.
Transportation to and from the airport
JFK is accessible via the AirTrain, which connects to the NYC Subway (A, E, J, Z lines) and the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR). Taxis, ride-share services, and express buses also serve the airport. However, if you plan to explore beyond the city — to destinations like the Hamptons, the Catskills, or even drive to Philadelphia or Boston — car rental is the most convenient option.
